Department of Applied Animal Science and Welfare

About the position

The work includes being part of a team running animal experiments and also performing daily animal management like feeding and cleaning stalls. This requires confidence handling animals, ability to work both in a team and independently. You will be part of a very dedicated team of researchers and animal technicians where communication and flexibility is crucial.

There will be periods with long working days outside of standard office hours.

Your profile

• You have documentation proving that you have taken a course that includes laws and regulations concerning the use of animals for scientific purposes.
• You have experience of working with cows, both indoors and outdoors.
• You can solve practical problems, are solution oriented and have excellent collaboration skills
• You are motivated and responsible
• You have good spoken and written English
• You have a class B driving licence that is valid in Sweden 2025
• You are most likely a student at, or new graduate from, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

About us

The goal at our institution is to promote good animal husbandry and animal welfare as well as sustainable food production with high product quality. We do this through research and education on animals with a focus on feed and nutrition, management and the environment, ethology, animal ethics and animal welfare. We are about 125 employees working in Uppsala, Skara, Umeå and Gothenburg.
